Overview

The ATHE level 6 qualifications in Diploma in Management for health and social care provide strategic management skills for those planning to or working in the healthcare sector both internationally and in the UK, including additional units that are specifically targeted at those working in the public sector. Change is a distinctive characteristic of the healthcare sector and it is the strategic managers who should be the first to respond to, and support positive transformation.

These qualifications have been accredited to the Qualifications and Credit Framework (QCF).   Qualification Accreditation Number (QAN) is 600/3406/3.

 

ASSESSMENT

The ATHE Level 6 Diploma in Management for Health and Social Care is comprised of 4 units.  Assessment is encouraged throughout the programme utilising variable and creative assessment tools of presentation, assignments,etc.

 

PROGRESSION

On successful completion of a Level 6 qualification in Diploma in Management for Health and Social Care, there are a number of progression opportunities like:

  • Qualifications to the level-7 Diploma in Healthcare Management
  • Apply for the MBA programme and claim exemptions for some of the units completed
Course Content

The ATHE Level 5 Diploma in Management for Health and Social Care is a 120 credit qualification. Learners must complete the six mandatory units totalling 70 credits plus a further 4 or 5 units from the list of optional units to achieve a minimum of 120 credits for the Diploma.

Entry Requirements
  • These qualifications are designed for learners from aged 19 and above

 

  • Candidates who have passed   ATHE Level 5 Diploma (QCF or NQF) are eligible to take this qualification.

 

  • A UK Degree or Overseas equivalent

 

  • BTEC HND in health care management or related studies or other level 5 qualifications from another internationally recognised awarding body or approved Overseas Institutes of Higher Education.

 

  • International students need to produce SELT Certificate from English Language Test provider approved by the Home Office, showing that they have achieved level B2 in English Language or equivalent on CERF in each of the 4 components: speaking, listening, reading and writing.
